David

I grew up in Port Washington, NY, with a love for music, sports, and the outdoors. My career has spanned business, wealth management, and clinical social work, where I’ve focused on trauma and community well-being. I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia and an MSW from Florida Gulf Coast University. My passion for community began in college, leading to experiences in intentional living worldwide. Now in Flat Rock with my wife, I’m eager to help develop a cohousing community grounded in shared values. I bring skills in leadership, financial management, conflict resolution—and a love for hiking, biking, and pickleball!

Dawn

I have had a lifelong interest in community, beginning at an early age with my father’s discussions about a family village concept and the many benefits of community support for one another.  After earning a BS in Business Administration, I built a successful career in sales, marketing, and PR, gleaning lessons in leadership and teambuilding. Following my desire to learn more about holistic health, I became a licensed massage therapist with a focus on eastern modalities. I then expanded my interests to include integrative medicine, and obtained my master’s in nursing, becoming a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. In nursing, I worked for many years with interdisciplinary teams in hospice and palliative care and have a deep appreciation for an integrative and holistic model for wellness. Married to David, I practice meditation, and love hiking, biking, yoga, and time with our four-legged companion, Bandit. I’m passionate about sociocracy governance in community, ensuring all voices are heard.

Mark

I grew up in Oakland, CA, and have lived in California, Oregon, Washington, and now Flat Rock, NC, with my wife, Anne. My career focused on education and community building—I taught and directed programs for adults with developmental disabilities and was the founding principal of a Waldorf Charter School. I bring skills in leadership, problem-solving, project management, collaborative decision-making, and budgeting. I love the outdoors, building things, organic gardening, and spending time with our energetic Labradoodle, Bailey. I believe cohousing fosters connection and shared values, creating a more meaningful way to live. I’m excited to contribute my experience and skills to building an intentional community that emphasizes green building practices and environmental sustainability.

Anne

I was raised in Berkeley, CA, during a time of social and political unrest, wonderful music, and a creative spirit that instilled in me a lasting dedication to peace, social justice, environmental awareness, and alternative education. My life has been a journey of merging creativity with support for those who march to the beat of their own drum. I've worked in the fields of graphic design, musical performance, and instructional design, obtained a Master's in Transpersonal Psychology, and provided holistic healing practices for stress relief and personal rejuvenation.

As a singer/songwriter, gardener, artist, and designer, I enjoy Kaiut Yoga, meditation, bicycle touring, and landscape design. I have a passion for nutrition, writing children's books, and painting collage papers, organic gardening, and environmental sustainability.
